Well any suggestions?
well, i'm not moderator/admin, but maybe my reply is also useful.
good programs for modeling are:

  1. Autodesk 3ds max (free student license/non commercial)
  2. Autodesk Maya (same as above, i'm not really sure, whats the real difference between these two is, traggey probably knows more about it
  3. Blender (open source, my personal favorite, includes everything. from modeling to rigging, animating, video cutting, has his own game-engine, many plugins, since a few months also motion tracking and other stuff.)
all of these are compatible to the collada-file system.
if you're just interested in 3D-stuff, there's also cinema4D, which is often used by youtuber for their clips. compared to 3ds, maya and blender it seems much easier, especially blender is at the beginning very confusing, also with the new gui.

there are many other programs out there, but i think, those are some of the most popular ones

hope i could help you, have a nice day ;)
3ds max can't export animations properly for HPL2. Maya is very similar to the HPL2 editors (in terms of camera control/object placement); I'm pretty sure FG just modeled their editors after Maya.
I like how this is directed to moderators like normal users don't have any idea of modeling software.|

But yeah, what is said above me.

Easen up, peeps. We don't want "Statyk" to go mad here. Who knows what happens?

Also, don't stray Off-Topic. That is why most threads get locked down.
I'm not going to flip. I just think it's funny because moderators and Traggey aren't the only ones that know about 3D modeling. Look up for example. You got good answers from normal users. Not a single moderator touched this yet.

JUUUSTT sayin'
