Since there only are mansion_02 wall-based seethrough windows I've decided to make one based on the default tile (the white one to be clear)

I think this belongs to the resources section, but it's a very nice model.

I did the whole thing using the HPL level editor, no modeling whatsoever. The attachment is just an exported compound.
I'm gonna have to go with Robosprog on this one, the stretched and squished walls on the top and bottom of it look pretty ugly. If it were me, I would just change them to planes, that would not only look much more interesting in my mind (since it wouldn't be the same material), but it would also solve that problem.
You could just re-texture it. Get the wall texture, and change the window's red mansion texture to the white wall one. It should be easy.

Kman's the plane master. Building barns out of planes... pfft, preposterous!

Just make sure you get the tie values just right; it can be a little time consuming to match preexisting textures, but it ends up looking pretty durn good.

pros of planes:
-You can retexture existing walls to your liking
-Easy to use
-No disturbing looking model stretching

cons of planes:
-You lose any hint of depth offered by the original model (unless the texture has a crazy normal_map)

Use a program like CrazyBump. Solves A LOT of problems as long as you don't have a super specific need for your normal map.
