Or you're desensitized.
I think some people just take it as a dare. "Oh, this game is scary? I bet I'm tougher than it!"

Sigh.
I played this game because I wanted to see for myself.

I also wanted to shit myself physiologically, which is what makes this game fun. As that quote in the song "This Is Halloween" says:

"Life's no fun without a good scare."
I had no idea what I was getting into here, I started playing and at about every jump scare I immediately shut the game down haha. It took like two months to beat this, I could only handle 15 minutes at a time.

Jump scares? What jump scares..? This game is true horror, there are hardly any jump scares in this. Except the custom stories, maybe.
Im talking about the scares like the skulls in the cabinet, that giant freakin tomb in the choir, books randomly falling down in the archives and doors opening with no one on the other side. Now you see what I mean?

Sure, but I don't think those jump scares alone could make your playthrough last for 2 months, right?

That's the only moment that made me angry with Frictional. Luckily, that moment was fleeting. ^,^

No it wouldn't make it last that long, it contributed though. What made it last so long was the anxiety I received from the built up fears of the game. I am the kind of person who is scared very easily, Amnesia is something I could only take in small doses a day.

...what tomb? I remember the choir being pretty scary, but I can't recall anything about a tomb... damn I need to play the game again. Seems like my memory is pretty bad xD
