I've honestly tried to search for some basic questions-answers throughout forum threads, but searching results gave me more than 30 pages of threads, so I'm asking these kinda FAQ questions in a new thread.

1. Is there a full-screen mode at HPL Editor?

2. What are the limits of HPL2 engine?
I've read that http://wiki.frictionalgames.com/hpl2/amn...erformance, but there's nothing particular said about the objects-polys limitations. Is it known what is the exact polys budget available directly visible to player-user?
1: There isn't exactly a full screen mode, but you can go to the level editor<edit<options and there you can adjust the resoultion.

2: Pretty much all you see in the main game is what the HPL2 can do. It's not about what can it do, it's about having creativity and having profit with the possibilities it gives you.
Well, all I know about polys is: The lowpolier it can be, the best.
Well ok... hmm... oh... here is a screenshot from a HPL wiki http://wiki.frictionalgames.com/_media/h...=722&h=700 How does this kinda dev-mode is turning on? Some sort of ingame console-code?
No, it's made turning on the dev_environment, which you can see here.
3. How to create light rays? I mean so called "god rays". Everything else according to lights is clearly described at HPL wiki and... yeah, hmm... so there's no questions about lights themselves. "God rays" feature is the only thing left that I can't find out how to make it.
Sorry, no drugs or alcohol ))) Seriously. No joking. I don't even drink wine or beer, if that matters...
Anyway, I'm talking about these "god rays" http://images.bit-tech.net/content_image...iew-07.jpg Clearly visible light rays.

Added. Oh yeah. I see. Billboards. That what I was talking bout. Thanks!
----
By the way Frictional themselves are calling those billboards "god rays" http://wiki.frictionalgames.com/hpl2/too...editmode?s so I wasn't that crazy ))))))
----
Added. Jesus Christ! Those light rays ain't fully 3d projections?!? I mean they're not volumetric. God save us all!!! So I have to methodically-boringly-time-wastely build up an illusion of volumetric lights with 2d plains... oh man... oh no... I didn't expect that...
Started linking a lot of guides here, but decided to put them in a thread instead:
http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-19019.html

This can be useful if you want to familiarize yourself with the engine :]

Most (all?) of the guides are created by seasoned users and should be an "efficient way to go about things".
Thanks! It's quite hard to find anything with a forum search function as long as there's tooOOO many of threads. I don't why it's so flooded, but surely it's flooded with a real lots of useless threads. So really thanks. I knew there should be something like that, some kind of FAQ!

P.S. To moderators. I think this thread can be locked or deleted. It's better to have this http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-19019.html thread moved to important threads. That's the thread that is truly usefull for new-comers and it's just nearly incredible to find it with "search".
Great! I just whipped it together :]

I think the search engine on this forum is pretty screwed up. I usually do all forum searches on here with google advanced search.
