Yeah, and I play a lot of newly-released games on it. I just don't get why Amnesia doesn't run like something tougher, like Mirror's Edge or Team Fortress 2.

That's probably the problem, huh? That I have a laptop?
You cannot replace the graphics card on a laptop
Could overclocking work? I'd rather resort to that instead of buying a new computer/laptop, or sulking over my loss of good money.
The reason your laptop can't play Amnesia is because of your chipset's OpenGL version. Look at your HPL.log file. It says you're using version 1.4.0 which is very outdated.

Overclocking your CPU would just make it faster, not change the chipset's OpenGL version.
And you can't overclock chipsets

Also, don't overclock your CPU. It's a pretty bad idea on a laptop because your laptop doesn't have a strong enough heatsink and/or fan. So you would just overheat your laptop alot

The version, right beneath the graphics driver name, says 2.1.8545, but I'm assuming that's the driver version.

Elsewhere in the .log mentions GLSL Version, which is 1.2. If that's the OpenGL version it's using, then that's bad. How come it's not using a less outdated version? Why isn't it using OpenGL 2.1, which IS installed on my computer? Is there a way to update the chipset's OpenGL? Or chipset version? Or chipset driver?
No sorry. Intel chipsets are incapable of playing Amnesia
Close this thread; I think I'll just have to get an actual up-to-date computer then.
