I was wondering what plugins all you music composers use to create sounds these days?

My setup:

Host: Fruity Loops 10

VST Plugins:

- East West Quantum Leap Gold
- East West Ra
- East West Stormdrum 2.0
- East West Voices of the Apocalypse
- Steinway Ivory D Lite
- Korg Legacy
- Native Instruments Massive
- Superior Drummer 2.0
- Musiclab Real Guitar
Personally I use Guitar Pro, which I find has the absolute smoothest interface of any notation program - I like the freedom of being able to rapidly press numerical keys for notes and switching between strings for counterpoint and constructing chords, since I know where the notes on a guitar are. I use MuseScore for arranging half-way professional scores though, because it's simple and very effective.

I've been meaning to get into VSTs/DAWs in general 'cause I just got an electric piano that can be used as a MIDI controller and plugged into a computer. A lot of fun to be had I bet.
That depends on your budget and what kind of genre you work in. Big Grin If you're planning to expand from EWQLSO Gold, I can throw you a few suggestions. Smile

EDIT: I might have misread your post. I thought at first that you were asking for advice on plugins, hence my post. If that is not the case, then disregard what I wrote. Big Grin

Kinda confused as to who that was directed at. On one hand he was the one who mentioned EWQLSO Gold but on the other I am the clueless one who would supposedly need recommendations.
Atm I do all my recording and mixing with "Audacity"
I usually use Audacity for when I have to import music into other games or content.
Audacity is not a plugin nor a vst :3

I use alot of Nexus2, also I enjoy faffing about with Edirol and RealGuitar, through FL studio of course! <3

The OP, since he was the one who wondered what people use for their music. Smile
Yeah i'm just curious as to what plugins composers use nowadays.
I also have guitar pro, but i only use it for my band to spread ideas and stuff.
Anyone who uses Hollywood Strings VST? I heard about it, but since strings are already included in EWQLSO Gold, i don't have them.
Hi fellow composers. I have FL studio aswell...

Now for this i used Sonatina Symphonic Orchesta which is completely free of charge. Of course it affects the quality, but not everyone have the money for the best plugins and this is not bad at all.
If you wonder how i got it all working in FL studio i posted a quick guide on this video.
