but it keeps saying "failed to load config file"

i removed the dev_user folder and restarted the game. but instead of loading my file it loaded the darke descent. so it has to be the user_settings.cfg. but i did just as i was told

You could try to delete your main_settings.cfg, if none exits the game creates a new one per default.
Then set up you dev_user again.
If this doesn't work post the contetnt of your main_settings.cfg and user_settings.cfg here.
