Running Black Plague on an HP laptop, model HP 665 with AMD E1-1200

Graphics card is up to date, windows 7 64 bit by the way

As the title states, when I occur something like smoke, or steam coming from a pipe (like in the vents at the beginning of the game), instead of seeing steam shoot out, all I see is lots of white boxes, like the particles might not be loading properly or something. Can't take a screenshot right now, seems if I print screen in game all I get is a black picture, if anyone can point me to a windowed mode option that would really help.

Also, installed from Steam if that helps

Make sure your graphics card drivers are fully updated and then do a file integrity check via steam. To learn how to do the latter, check Problem I of the troubleshooting guide.
