So I've been thinking, do you guys want CS with story or no story at all ? Or parkour story ? Or survival story ? (All this stories doesn't contain cheap jumpscares)
Vote for it and post your opinion in this thread. And please, if you disagree with others opinion, don't insult people or complain about it. Just leave them.
With story. I feel that story was one of the important aspects of a custom story, aside from Atmosphere. My Love was good with that love story, but the level-building is terrible.
even though its mainly about scaring the player I still feel there needs to be some sort of interrest/motivation in a CS. this could fx be done by using pretty environments, or story. But since the assets of amnesia are fairly limited, I find story to be one of the places were CS creaters can be most innovative. If its just pure scare and the story is shit and the mapping is poor, then It might still be scary, but id rather use the word torture as theres nothing interesting about it at all.

It all depends what the creator is going for. I like custom stories with a story, but sometimes custom stories can be good without a story, like that one Your Computer made where you can race a suitor or that one Apjjm made that is parkour.
I like an atmospheric story. Amnesia: TDD did not have a very complex premise, even the developers admit that in the commentary.(IE, Kill Alexander was the entire motivation behind everything the player did) But the atmosphere and the perfectly timed scares made it a very memorable experience.

My only complaint was that the number of encounters later in the game kind of jaded me. Just too many grunts, imo.

Ps, also with the "All of this" option, how can you have Story and no story at the same time? : P
I think the best custom stories are the one with deep stories. Stories you actually feel. You can make it scary with music, enemies and annoying jumpscares, but the story will give you the feeling you're in a bad situation.

Yeah, I know. That's why I want to remove the "All of this" option.
About the story and the no story at the same time, I didn't want to add the no story option in the first place. But when I saw some CS with no story, I just simply put it there. To be honest, I don't know if you can have a story and a no story at the same time.
Just saw that many people vote for "With Story" option. Keep it coming guys !
