i followed the tutorial on the wiki, the plane is exactly on the area (i used the xyz and not my mouse) but the water looks weird...

It looks fine to me. Can't see much on those screens btw, could you make it a bit brighter?

well the waves are too small. it more looks like oil or something.

im sorry, i cant take screenshots where its really good to see, because its just a small cosmetical detail
You can put a pointlight in the room just for the screenshot, remove it when you're done.

Well, now we can actually see what you mean.
You need to change the tile amount. Under the plane tab for the water texture, change the X and Z values from 1 to something like 0.4. If that isn't the look you're going for, change the plane texture to another water texture.
