Hello everybody, so I'm very far along in my first mod, and I'm starting to question myself. I think that so far, my mod is better than some that I've seen on YouTube for example. I'd like to think that my maps look great, because I've spent countless hours working on them, but I'm also wondering if it's just common for new developers to think their mod is really great. Can someone please give me some insight as to whether I'm just suffering from some sort of "noob syndrome" over here? Thanks!
Yeah I'd say its pretty common. But many like me,start to think after working long time on a story, that its not so great anymore.
Release it, listen to the general feedback (Not so much specifics) if your worried.
I went from:
This looks great --> Create new area: This looks even greater --> Look back at old area: This look horrible --> Rework old area --> My entire mod looks "meh".

I'm currently at "meh".

If you think your mod is great, then that is great! Feeling positive about what you create is a nice feel.
You can make an WIP thread for your mod and post some info and screenshots on it for people to give feedback on. If you want feedback on gameplay you can also try to do a demo or see if you can get someone to beta test it.
Also if you dont want to make an entire thread but just get criticism on screenshots you can post it in the screenshots criticism thread.
Yeah publish them, i'll try to be as much asshole as possible Tongue
if you send us some pics and information summary i can physco-anaylze it for you.
You should take screenshots and post them on the screenshot criticism thread. Smile
What MyRedNeptune said. SC thread is the best!
To everybody who replied, thank you so much, I appreciate it greatly. Tonight, I will try my best to take some screenshots for you guys Smile
