Full Version: When I release my CS...

I was just wondering, when I choose to release my Full Conversion, if I have some custom textured paintings for example and they are saved in /myconversion/static_objects/paintings/, but my Level Editor pulls them with the same file name and data from /redist/static_objects/paintings/, when I get the Full Conversion to in an installer, can I simply give out the installer which will handle all the files and folders in the /myconversion/ folder, and the CS will simply pull from the files located in /myconversion/static_objects/paintings/?

Or do I have to do something like, put the Level Editor in the /myconversion/ folder and load all the stuff from there?

anyways :http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-11120.html

I'll try to simplify.
I have a painting, which is located in redist/static_objects/paintings.
I have that same file but located in /redist/myconversion/static_objects/paintings.

When I use the Level Editor, I use the paintings as if they are in the /redist/static_objects/paintings/ folder.

When I give away my Full Conversion, would the paintings cause an error because I am not giving the same paintings that are in the level editor? Or would Amnesia be smart enough to pull them from the static_objects folder in the myconversion directory?

This, unless you mess something up.
If it's the same file, why do you need another copy in your full conversion's folder?

Edit: Just realized that you said they were textered differently. In that case, I would suggest that you name the file something else.

Because you might want to isolate the files into your FC folder rather then having them spread around in different places making it a pain to delete/uninstall for people.

EDIT: what a waste of 300 post....well lets celebrate anyway with an image of a chair
