Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a skybox issue I've been having, where my skybox has visible seams? Its like each side is lit differently. Here's a couple of screens:

Its pretty dark but you can clearly see them in game. I'm using cubemapgen to make the skybox from my Terragen renders, are there any settings I need to be aware of for cubemapgen? I know this isn't really a problem specific to Amnesia, but I can't find any solutions to the problem elsewhere!
You are a boss! Your post made me really happy. I dedicate this to you:

"Champion"

Author Unknown

The average runner runs
until the breath in him is gone,
But the champion has the iron will
that makes him carry on.

For the rest the average runner begs
when limp his muscles grow,
But the champion runs on leaden legs,
his courage makes him go.

The average man's complacent
when he's done his best to score,
But the champion does his best,
and then he does a little more.

I am assuming you are rendering with a 90 degrees horisontal FOV in Terragen. I think cubemapgen has some sort of option for edge adjustments, called "Edge fixup" - might be something with that. If that doesn't solve it you can send me your raw renders and I'll test around some.

Your setting looks really nice!

Thanks for the kind words! I'll try the edge fixup now. I'll post some more images in the WIP section when I fix a few things!

Edge fixup was already checked by the looks of it, and none of the edge settings seem to change anything for me. I'll send you the skybox renders in a pm for you to take a look at if thats alright Smile
Also where did you get this skybox? I'm interested
I made it using Terragen 2
Stop me if this is a horrible idea, but does it have to be a skybox? Couldn't it also be a skydome or skysphere? Would get rid of those edges....
I've heard of skydomes, not sure if its possible or not? It would solve the problem though!

HPL2 is skybox only as far as I am aware
What HPL does or doesn't do matters not. A skybox or a skydome can always be made by simply creating a mesh. A skydome is for sure a better idea.
It actually doesn't need to be a skybox. You can just make a mesh and have the texture to be that. You can't even tell the difference.

Nice setting you got here. I'm not even sure if it's Amnesia anymore.
