Good helper,
if you go on an elevated surface like a box (no wooden barrels though) or crate, any dog won't be able to get you, but they will jump up and try to get you.
The only danger is that they can push the object, so put it in a corner.
(for the cage crates near the end of the game, you'll need a barrel to get up there.)
