Full Version: Anybody know where this sound loop came from???

I used to play a lot of Starcraft and Warcraft III... I guess I still do. I used to make scary maps for them, and a lot of times I'd rip the sound effects from other maps. Well I took this amazing little sound loop from an old Starcraft 1 map... I don't remember the name or who made it, and used it in a Warcraft III map of mine. Just today, I'm going on a bit of a nostalgia trip, looking through my old harddrive and I found one of my old Warcraft III maps, and heard this sound loop. It's not too important, but I'm extremely curious now as to where it came from. I remember asking the original map maker where he got the loop from AGES ago, but IIRC he couldn't remember either.

It sounds like music from a horror game, so I figured maybe, just MAYBE somebody here has heard it before and knows what game it's from... (IF it's from a game... I don't know!) As far as I'm concerned the file name is gibberish. I've searched long and hard, and haven't turned up anything. I even tried using Shazam to identify it, and it actually found something... though it wasn't correct.

I've attached the .wav in a .zip for your consideration.

Thanks!
Trevor
I don't even remember, but no, I don't know.

Btw, if you wanna use the sound file to Amnesia then you need permission from the creators.

Oh haha don't worry about that. I haven't made a map for Starcraft/Warcraft III/Starcraft II/Whatever in AGES.
Hi Trevor,

That's a loop by Matt Hanson Smile You can find it on his website (http://www.artofsound.us), in the Cinematique Loops section, it's #22.
YESS!!!! Thank you so much dude!
Erm... You mean dudette, lol Blush

Glad I could help!
Er... yea... yea that's what I meant... Blush

I just spent the last couple of hours looking for the download for that song, and what the name of it is. Finally found it on flashkit.com. It's called In The Shadows, and his alias on flashkit is calpomatt.

Whoever designed the layout of flashkit needs to be shot... Dodgy

No problem. In fact, it's the second time someone on this forum assumes I'm a guy, so I'm kind of getting used to it. Tongue
I guess it's because there aren't many ladies around here, heh.
