Simple question really, do you like:

- A well-developed story

- Jumpscares galore

- Mixed
Well-developed story with space, architecture, matching the mood of the story. Ideally, if the story and genre allows that, if details of the story can be understood by just looking around, without notes. Proper buid up of the story, not too fast, not slow boring. No Amnesia puzzles similarities, just got tired of the same combinatins of the crowbar, acid, hummer, etc. And no Silent Hill stylistic similarities around! But last two recommendations are personal, subjective.
I prefer a well-developed story. A masterfully crafted story adds much more to the atmosphere and makes the players able to easily immerse themselves. It also speaks more volumes than even the best placed scares and events for me.

On the subject of puzzles, there are plenty of interesting puzzles that anybody could make with this game. I have dabbled into exploring some of the possibilities and I was quite happy with my results.
Same as above. But I certainly like silly jumpscary stories sometimes.
i like a developed story with scares but not ones that only have pointless jumpscares
I love very developed stories, but with really good and scary jumpscares (Followed By Death-like). On the other hand, I sometimes like to play typical jumpscare stories with their naked guys. (Don't kill me please :_()
Well I liked good and developed custom stories. It means atmospheric and stuff. But sometimes I just got pulled in by the story like My Love.

But if I just want my heart to beat fast then jumpscare maps. A whole lot of them.
Of course a balanced mix, that's why The dark descent was so successful.
I LOVE stories with great mad design and some, but not too much, jumpscare action. I like stories with big maps and meaningful atmosphere. So i mostly like well developed stories other than those "flying naked guy" stories.

Immersive story is good. However, you can count on one hand the amount of jump scares that Dark Descent actually had. That's not what made it great. It induced REAL fear in the player through the use of horror inducing buildup. The few jumpscares that existed just added to the fear factor rather than being the big payoff in scares.

Jumpscares are the cheapest and most unimaginative way of getting a reaction from the player. And this poll is missing the point of what makes a good Custom Story.
