this pretty much.

Also there are other differences to note when it comes to musicians. For instance, high profile singers like Madonna or Rihanna don`t usually write and compose their music themselve (or at least not alone.). So, they are "performer" and if possible should be seen as such. Madonna does incredible live performances for instance. I am not into her music, but man, if I had 250 bucks I would go to a concert of hers.

If I have to choose I would say "Underground" though...but only because it vastly outnumbers the "mainstream/popular" musicians. Also it is a bit difficult to call the "Distant Worlds" Final Fantasy ~200 piece Orchestra tour "mainstream" or "underground" for example. Wink

I love to listen to anything that evokes emotions in me or tells me something new. That goes for JayZ "Run this Town" as it goes for Noisebazookas "Woolgathering". This doesn`t go for many Heavy Metal bands like Metallica or Amon Amarth because I oversaturated myself for many years being a Metalhead during my teens. It is mostly just noise to men as it has nothing to do with who I am right now. Maybe that changes and I will get all soaked up over screamed songs about Vikings again.
the heavy side of punk is literally 79020 times better than the heaviest side of metal anyways so i feel you

just start jamming hardcore and powerviolence and grindcore and skramz instead of death metal and black metal and thrash trust me on this
Any good Punk Rock bands that anyone know? I can't stick with Titus Andronicus forever you know.

been there, done this. I`m still a fan of Pig Destroyer (heh...now that is somewhat fitting...lol) and Nasum. Some Madball here and there is nice to.

Black Metal is quite a difficult topic. I think the stuff from the early-mid 90s is still interesting to hear for its simplicity and often gritty or voluntarely bad recording habits.

I don`t even know what powerviolence and skramz is. Am I getting old or what?
Is it me or are there being spawned too many music related threads? Wouldn't it be better to keep everything on single thread?

It is needed to keep Kman from turning every tread into a music discussion-thread.

Hey, I'm just trying to spread my love for all things grindcore.
