So I am compiling a list of Amnesia custom story "cliches" and I was wondering if you guys would help make this list complete.
So far I have
- Shoehorned Golden Statue
- Crowbar "puzzle"
- Flying naked corpses
Any others you deserve should be on here? Feel free to tell me

The character wakes up to a note.
A note telling you where to find a key.
A sewer level.
Machine room puzzles.
- Monsters appearing and disappearing a ways off behind locked but see-through doors.
- Monsters appearing right after the player completes an objective or finds a puzzle item.
- Every single background character keeping an extensive diary of what they've done today and leaving it in conspicuous places.
Something to do with occult. Anything at all.
- No boxlight using in the maps, like completely darkness when you walk in corridors, hallways, searching rooms.
- Same old amnesia music
- Same repetitive puzzles, nothing refreshing
- Same old map design, nothing new.
- Copied scares from other stories, nothing new or refreshing this is really annoying and really hard to make a new ones, because there are so many scares and good ones too, but many players use those still and just copy stuff on their own mod.
True, but I don't think those are clichés so much as universal staples of bad design.
