I love how you guys analyse the game and do research! Sometimes a student asks me if games really can inspire people to carry something over to the real world and learn something new (Graphic Design and Illustration might sound like classes that get many enthusiastic gamers, ...nope) and threads like this are always the proof to the loud "Yes!" they receive.
It's the sign of a good, immersive game - I did loads of research when I played Dear Esther. Smile
This game has not lantern refills so have we got infinity light?

That's still uncertain - I can't imagine that Victorian batteries lasted that long either (it is a battery lamp isn't it?), so perhaps you need to pick up another lamp or light source at some stage? Just guessing here.

This seemed ridiculous to me.

But how do we interact with them then?

I don't want to watch the videos, but what is the level set up like. Is it hubs with rooms connected like in the first Amnesia, or is it more linear, or more open ended?

The area shown looks huge. Much bigger than the first areas of The Dark Descent. And the layout, well think of the first mansion area in the original Resident Evil.

Yeah, actually thinking about the entire first level before the first loading screen, it's huge. So much room for exploration (Pewdiepie only scratched the tip of the iceberg), since there's notes, playable recording devices and flashbacks, a lot of which can be passed by. The level design is also rather ingenious, I feel it certainly surpasses parts of TDD in various aspects.
