It mainly fixes the gamepad/controller issue that would cause the game to crash, vSync etc...

I think another patch is coming to fix missing dlls and some other small things.
Patch was to fix the USB crash issue (and adaptive sync setting got snuck in as well)
The missing dll files have also been added now, so if you got an update during the last hour that was it.

I apologize if I bother or stress you, I know it's a tough time for you. But are you working on a patch that fixes some in-game bugs?
Yes we are gathering a list of the errors reported in and will fix, but that patch will not be out as fast as the two we did now to fix crash issues.

It's ok, I can wait Wink. Thanks for your prompt reply.

Finally I say you can ask for a refund because you should not have to go through all this troubleshooting to play a game. Please take the time to try suggestions out.

Jens: I know there a lot of different configurations available to the masses... Also, this isn't the way you formulated the last two sentences of your post I replied to.

It doesn't matter; you seem helpful anyway. I appreciate that. I just wouldn't... well... formulate things in the colourful way you did. It's quite suggestive and - at least in Dutch standards - not very professional. Well, f*ck that anyway.

I've attached my HPL.log file. I hope you guys will successfully patch this game and remove al the performance hiccups. Good luck! And take your time. I'd rather wait and have something good than have it the way it is now...

Update: tested the priority thing. No joy, however...

Kind regards,
Jazz
I've tried all of the fixes on every page of this forum with no major results... Since there seems to be a long list of a great variety of machines with similar issues, I'll post my specs:

CPU
Intel i7-2620M @ 2.7GHz, turbo to 3.4GHz

GPU
AMD Radeon 6740M 1GB @ 750MHz, OC to 900MHz

HDD
7200RPM, 500GB

RAM
8GB DDR3

OS
Windows 7 Pro

Background programs
AV running, all other non-essential programs stopped

I could play TDD on Medium or High with absolutely zero issues. AMFP on Medium or Low runs perfectly smoothly, except for the notorious temporary stutter on the loading of any event.

I've tried:

Defragmenting HDD - was 5% fragmented

Lowering MaxChannels and StreamBuffers

Lowering SSAO settings

I've seen some slight improvements, but there is still a significant stutter upon walking through some areas (but not others) or, specifically, right before an event of some sort happens.
Where could we find the patches if we have another version than the steam one?

For example I have a Good Old Games version.
I too am having massive stutters and pauses throughout the game. It's really annoying.

My setup is as follows:

i5 3570k
GTX 770 2gb
8gb RAM
Windows 7

I am using the latest Nvidia drivers... Also, Vsync doesn't seem to work in the game.

Also please look into streaming textures, i think that is causing stuttering. The game does stutter, and Amnesia 1 doesn't stutter.
