i disagree with the idea altogether
I'd much rather see an original custom trailer that happens to use the new monsters, sound effects and level props that AMFP has.
My two cents: someone will have to create new monster pigs, something that is truly disturbing and scary to stare at. I do believe that it was TCH's intention to have us feel sympathy and emotion for the pigs, they almost made them "cute" (they could belong to Beyond Good and Evil): while I like the idea it reduces the scare factor :/
Can people shut up about the 'reduced scare factor'? A HORROR-story can also be psychological; a game in the horror-genre does not mean it needs to scare you as in a jumpscare.
they're fine as they are, any "tweaking" would imo reduce the quality that you are actually aiming to improve

Fair enough then...If the horror was supposed to be psychological, then why bother putting LAUGHABLE ENEMIES THAT CHASE YOU and a couple of JUMPSCARES as well? AMFP had those...Some well handled, others terribly handled, but they were there, you can't deny it...
Anyway, I guess some of us would like to see the gameplay and tension that was showed in the trailers, after all that's what made up take out our wallet and purchase it...If such a mod is one day available, I would give it a try: no one is forcing you to do so.
Oh, and if you have issues with tweaking, it might be better to forget custom stories ever existed for the first Amnesia, what a disgrace!
EDIT: The more I think of it, the more I wonder if there shouldn't be another tweak that removes all the cheap scares from AMFP, so it will be closer to a true psychological horror story...
