Or does he die like a dog and "reach a higher level of conscience" ?
Is the hive mind still around ?
Do you find it's innitial lair ?
I've also heard hints about Red making a cameo - WTF ?! Another hallucination ?
In the end, you blow up this wall of rubble blocking your path. Then when you walk in, your at the opening to the shelter again where Red was, its just like in Overture. Then you go to the furnice and Red is waiting inside of it, just like before.
Philip presses the button and either just Red gets burned again, or him and Philip get burned. You hear alot of screeming and then it fades away to a view of Philip laying on the floor in front of the computer that he sent the message on.(dead or alive)
Yeah, basically what 'Penumbra' said was correct. Except Red asks Phillip something along the lines of : "Would you rather enter a story get out and have all the chitter chatter and not know that the story has begun, or would you know that you had a story and end it. For me [Red] the answer is no."
You agree and hop into the furnace, it turns on, you and red scream, then you see phillip lying by the computer

There was an infected guy named Dr. Enimis talking to you about nothing the entire time. I think he was the guy Philip locked in the freezer in Black Plague.

I figured Requiem was all in Philip's mind after the end of Black Plague, and at the end him going into the furnace was agreeing to end it (die on the floor in real life, and end his madness in his mind). It seemed he had the choice of going on and waking up, but chooses to stop and die on the floor. Meaning up till Black Plague was truly him and Requiem took place in his mind after BP.
I could be wrong of course but that's how I thought when I played through it.
