I was testing the particles on the flicker option of a light source, then decided to remove it entirely, but once I removed the light source, the particles remain. I tried loading an earlier save but it's still there.... How do I get rid of them?

Have you deleted your map cache files?

Once you place particles, you can't get rid of them, you are bound to them forever.

Try what DeAngelo said, if no luck, restart the editor.
And as last option, edit the .map as text.
