Not sure if this kind of topic belongs here, but I wanted to know if there was any way to get a hold of Justine even if you have a 2010 version of Amnesia (Not downloaded through Steam). Stupid me bought a cheaper download without reading the 2011 update thing. I doubt that there is a way around this, but I figured it would be worth a shot.

Where did you get it from? All stores should have updated versions of the game.

It was an Amazon download... Here's the launch screen for reference.

You can use the patch from support.frictionalgames.com but you haev to manually copy the patch files after installation into the game directory of your current amnesia installation.

Instead of doing what Jens suggested, I think this link works with the Amazon download without extracting the files etc...:

Then it's the same, you have to do what Jens said and manually copy the update files over. Install the patch at the desktop for example and copy the files from there to Amnesia installation directory making sure to overwrite files.

Is there any tutorial out there on how to do that correctly? I'm technologically retarded.

I noticed on the screenshot you posted that you have two game folders: "Amnesia" and "Amnesia The Dark Descent". From what I've read before, the version purchased on Amazon creates an install folder named just "Amnesia", instead of the full name like the version from the Frictional Games Store. The updated files are probably in the other folder named "Amnesia The Dark Descent".
Can you confirm what is the content of each folder, please?

EDIT: Oh, wait. Is that a view of your "Documents" folder (where the save files are kept), or is it the folder where the game is installed?

The folder "Amnesia" is the game download and the "Amnesia The Dark Descent" folder is the music download.
