The thing that makes Amnesia maps special is the diversification of the assets: They are used in many different places, in different contexts. Also, the Brennenburg castle is a place which is easy to believe it exists (the distribution is realistic).

It's not only about the detail, it's about the background: If there's a story behind, the map won't look bad.
