I've gotten in 2 separate occasions, 1-inch long thorns embedded into the skin just above my right hand's, middle finger knuckle.
They went in so deep I was too scared (at the time) to remove them. I still have a bump from my second one, I swear it's still inside of my finger.
I can press on it, and it's a hard bump but it doesn't bother me at all though.

How and when did that occur?

Shouldn't that have caused an infection? Like a huge splinter.

We have this like "jungle" because we live on or near a lake, and it's like 30 feet to our boat dock, and between their is just all jungle in-between.
We use to have a ton of spiky bushes and everything, so we actually went through and weeded out almost everything to the ground.
And that is when I got my first thorn in my knuckle, I got that one pulled all the way out.
But on another date (
Year I think later), we went out to trim up the "forest" again. I had another one pushed in the same spot but when I tried to pull it out, it broke off. So I guess the skin just covered up what was left stuck in finger.
It got sore for awhile but I just kind of forgot about it. I only notice it because of the slightly darkened bump.

I used to get wooden sticks constantly in my hands so i slowly become immune to it,
my handskin get thicker and sharp wooden sticks rarely penetrate it.

The mother of my sister's boyfriend passed away this morning and I'll be attending her wake in a couple of hours.
It was supposed to be a happy day today.
