I tend to run steam games on Parallels (because windows has a lot more games) but whenever i try to start up TDD it loads up the Frictional Games logo for a second before completely going black. I hear the music for the title screen, yet the screen remains black. I have tried verifying the game cache, uninstalling and reinstalling both steam and TDD, but to no avail. I have also tried changing the DPI, updating my drivers, and turning of SSAO. It does this on the mac side as well. If its of any significance, the logo tends to cut out right as the "Access the steam community" tab pops up.
Running games in virtual environments can be tricky. Have you gotten it to work with many other games? Amnesia requires some OpenGL support and all, which may not be supported by the virtual driver.
Jump over to the VM's Documents folder and attach the hpl.log within \Amnesia.
Its worked with every other game I have at the moment, its just this one. Where can I find the hpl.log file?
As I said, hpl.log lies in Documents\Amnesia.

I hope i don't come off as an idiot, but what do you mean by "attach"? I found the file, i think, but it just says 'hpl' and not 'hpl.log' is that a problem?
It's a text file, just post it here so we can see if there are any problems while the game is running.
That file will tell.
