I purchased Penumbra Black Plague Gold Edition from Steam. I have an ATI Radeon 4850 HD graphics card. I am running the latest 8.12 ATI Catalyst Drivers. I need the 1.0.1 patch to fix the texture issues. But when I install it over the Steam Version the game no longer loads, asking me for a CD key.
When will Steam have the patch available so that they can automatically update their customers? Considering that the 1.0.1 patch is many months old, I'm suprised the version Steam has available isn't already patched.

We had a chance today to examine the Steam version of Black Plague, it turns out it needs some updating. We have submitted the info required to correct BP on Steam, so hopefully an update will be available on Steam soon!

I'm curious, will Penumbra: Episode 1 be made available on Steam? Or will it not be, because another entity owns the rights?
Am I missing out terribly, in terms of being up to speed in the Black Plague, by starting in the middle of the series? I've never played Oblivion, though I did download the demo today.
We are looking into getting ep1 on steam. But cannot say anything for certain.

Steam has patched this issue. If the update has not been applied click on File > Check for Steam client updates.

I'm still getting BP graphic problems after the update and i'ts worse than before. I'm using HIS Radeon HD3870 IceQ Turbo... tryed many configurations and graphic modes, but the problem continues.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Also check so that Catalyst AI is off.

I just bought the Collectors pack on Steam and was having the same pink texture shader issues as 'kpslook'. I can confirm that completely turning off Cat AI fixed the issue for me too. Phew! Thanks!
