Purchased the game from steam. When I press play, game crashes. Have already re-installed, checked file integrity. tried launching through .exe

Nothing seems to work, I had this same issue with the dark descent. This is becoming a cancer and I wish I could buy one of your games without having an issue straight away at launch.
You should read the troubleshooting guide thread before posting so that you can provide the necessary information. My guess is that you either don't have a compatible graphics card or corrupt/missing drivers.

I read enough of that bullshit man. But thanks for the advice.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Graphics.

Used to work with The dark descent. Now they don't.
What I meant is that you should provide details about your computer as well as attach the hpl.log file after the game crashes.

I can provide computer deats. But there isn't an hpl.log file since the game crashes at launch and then it says "aamfp isn't responding" my only option then is to close it.

computer details. dark descent won't even launch(nothing happens after i click play), machine for pigs crashes at launch.
Check file integrity on the games using the steam option. Re-install drivers for your graphics card. Make sure to disabled anti-virus or similar that might interfere with launching the game.

@jens, all of that was already done.
Make sure computer is not running on battery or using a power saver plan. Try making a new user account and run the game in it in case something is wrong with permissions with your regular user.

Not running on battery nor power saver. My permissions are also not an issue. Is there just legitimately no fix to this issue? You're welcome for my money...

Bought both games, neither of them work.

If you had read that "bullshit", you would know you have to attach the file HPL.log, after the crash occurs, as mentioned at Problem X.
