Some of you may know of Stalker: Shadow Over Chernobyl. I loved this game - the atmosphere and gameplay were nearly perfect.
The developers have decided to release an early build of it (#1935) for modders to get a hold of unreleased content. it also allows normal folk to play it!

EDIT: Also would like to add don't expect much - it's hard to have fun in it. Combat is pretty much run and gun, poor balance and so on. SoC grew a lot in just a year and a half :o

although i agree STALKER Shadow Of Chernobyl was fun
