Frictional Games Forum (read-only)

Hi there,

I got a problem with the just downloaded Steam version of the Penumbra series:
Overture ran without problems but Black plague crashes whenever I try to get it started...

This happens while the Introscreen after the Frictional games and the Paradox interactive logo. Instead of the next logo (I guess, that this is to come) there are just two boxes - a big one in the centre of the screen an a smaller one bellow. Then the game crashes and the blackbox starts...
It reportes, "penumbra.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module Penumbra.exe at 0023:004EB5B2"


I tried the troubleshooting guides and just installed the newest graphic drivers but the problem continues...

First, do a file integrity check. Then, update your graphics card drivers or reinstall then in case they are corrupted.
