Also. does anyone know if HPL3 engine will ever be released for user generated content? I'd LOVE to make my own little games from this engine.
We were talking about the lighting earlier. I'm excited, lighting is my favorite graphical part of games and there's a severe neglect in good lighting and shadowing in games these days. I hope Frictional puts up one of their tech spotlighting on the lighting engine soon.
Yes, Thomas said it will support custom stories.
I'm interested in the new technical aspects as well <3
If they make their level editor less frustrating to use, I might jump on that.
Considering it has more features assumably, I doubt that.
Honestly all I'd ask for is better viewport navigation and more fluid transform/translate/rotate tools.
Maybe it's because I'm spoiled on UDK. Eheheh.
You have a point. That kit has one hell of a navigation. <3
There is no indication that Reed will be main hero/protagonist. As we already know, the character in gameplay trailer wasn't the main one and was used for the sake of the demo. Reed could be as well the character only used for the videos (and, well, side-character in the game, story-wise).
UPD: Thomas in his blog entry says that they started to make live-action teasers just few months ago which pretty solid implication Reed is one-shot character.
I hope we can play a demo next year sometime, I think it would be better to play the demo of when it's in a beta stage of development, that way when the full game comes out it, the improvements will be much more noticeable and have a greater impact. Also they kind of teased it early, a demo needed to keep people being patient and from tearing up the forum from saying "is it released yet!"
I wonder, will the PC version will be released earlier than the PS4 version?
I hope the final game will have more of this environments which reminds me a lot of Penumbra Black Plague. Find this dirty walls always scary. And I also hope that it's possible again to interact with every single object in the environment and not only with "quest-items".
Why would you want to interact with every single object in game? I have trouble understanding the common fuss about that, and the outcry because that wasn't present in AAMFP. What meaningful action can be derived from that other than pointless dicking around?
