Fair point. I guess when I think about it, most of the content I've seen about the game has been thanks to members of this forum spreding the news.
Have they always been like this, historically? I don't really remember much publicity surrounding either Amnesia release.
The website should certainly be updated, considering we're only two and a half months from launch. Have Frictional mentioned anything about the lack of updates etc? Do you think having a small and non location specific development team has an impact on this?
They must have made enough from Amnesia sales, to warrant a decent enough PR campaign?

Paddy and Ashtoreth, our main source of information, maintain an unofficial portal which details all things Frictional Games have done to prepare people for the release of their upcoming game. You can find their SOMA portal here:

Advertising was never really a big thing from Frictional. The main source of publicity Amnesia received was likely due to its custom story capability; combined with Let's Play videos from YouTube.
A Machine For Pigs' main advertising was more or less community hype.
Penumbra? I wasn't really aware it existed till I joined the forum! :o
Oh my. How embarassing that I forgot to mention the Penumbra series.
I personally haven't played them, but heard they were decent (well, two were anyway).
Thinking about it now, I do remember the huge surge of let's plays when Amnesia came out. I also found Desura, and that opened me up to the many custom mods.
I wonder if exposure to the console market will increase Frictionals fan base. I'm pretty sure Sony will be pleased with their collaboration.
Man i might be dumb for just realizing it, but...
Carl as a robot and that monster looked same, same robot model ?
Yeah, Carl and the dinosaur robot (that's what I call it) look very similar.
There are probably a few of those around.

There are 2 carls 420% confirmed.
What's up with all those Japanese/Chinese words at Upsilon's computers? I can see them on some boxes too. I think even the dinosaur monster thing speaks some corrupted Japanese/Chinese word.
I do love the more dramatic descriptions in the non English previews.
Wait, did the writer of this article already rate SOMA?
69% ?!
Or it is Hype meter?
