Thanks, it worked for me so I assumed everyone else would be able to see it.
Setting it underground would bring to mind Half-Life. :p
I'd rather it be in space. We need more space horror games. The isolation of being alone in space is pretty terrifying imo.
I think I'm going to need to see a lot more about the game before jumping to any conclusions about where it might take place.
After all, this first artwork seems to be real.
But I don't think those monsters are scary - in contrary.
Ok I have read through the thread but if I missed this then sorry.
I think why Reed freaks out when ~she~ moves on the screen is because the machine has never done that. It was able to create a Vivarium for simple non-living things (or when it does replicate/create a living thing it is dead/still (Why she falls off the chair)).
So when Reed sees ~herself~ move, that is new thing and she freaks out.
My thoughts of the evolution of this machine/idea is that it was simple at first but as they ~tuned~ it and let it ~learn~ it becomes more advanced in what it can do (also this is why it was not able to create itself in the image (or that once Reed saw it was able to replicate/create life she feared that it would/could replicate itself, a machine in a machine (what spurs of the whole What is reality theme).
So just as a wild guess we may get to the point where this machine is able to replicate/create/advance things not only inside its vivarium but outside of it (what also feeds into the What is reality theme).
Looks OK, but I'd need to see more of the actual game to draw more of a conclusion

What is fair.
While I don't normal play horror games this has got my attention and my curiosity, so I am just trying to let it flow.
Here's what I think Soma means. Sentient Operating Mechanical Anomaly.
From a VERY early interview from 2010; (regarding the setting)
"MH: Any plans for the future now that Amnesia has released? Can we look
forward to, mayhaps a sci-fi/horror title along the lines of the
original Alien, something like what Dead Space could have been? Or do
you have something else planned?
FG: We are full steam ahead already on what is coming next, but too
early to say anything specific about it. Lots of things can change
before we have something that can truly be said to be the next project.
It will not be Amnesia 2 that is as good as certain and we doubt it will
be in space!"
