How make Billboard effect like this :

Many dark billboards.

Yeah, put alpha way down and place many of them next to each other so that the player will never have an angle that makes them invisible (because they are 2D planes). Slight rotation and movement to each one.

Try opening an original map and see how they did it there. Try replicating it.
