"Layers of Fear" is a game developed by Bloober Team recently released to steam on Early-Access. It's incredibly highly rated (97% positive on steam) and is getting loads of praise from reviewers, calling it an unexpected surprise.

Have any of you played this crazy shit? What are your thoughts on it?

Haven't played it yet but when it's on sale I'll definitely get it. Seems like a nice game Smile
I tried playing yesterday running parallels (windows emulator) on a friend's mac. It's really poorly optimized. Like it ran at an acceptable speed until we got to a room with a gramophone sitting in the middle. Large room, but not much going on, but the game became unplayable; 30 second delay on inputs, framerate dropped to about 8 fps.

Up until then it was highly enjoyable and terrifying
I played it, didn't enjoy it at all. It's a very PRETTY game, but the gameplay itself boring and tedious, there are little puzzles to speak of and the horror element is purely based on spoopy visuals and jumpscares.

It's good for an early access expoloration game, but I don't believe it's a good horror game.
Looks like a really good horror game, thanks for the tip!

Please do not keep keep bringing this up or joking about it as it is disrespectful to the moderators and it has been cause for many problems in the past.

Yes, I did enjoy Amnesia, a great lot. I enjoy Silent Hill, Alone in the dark, the old Call of Cthulhu point'n click games.

Amongst more recent games Alien Isolation was great, Until Dawn was just awesome.

I could go on for quite some time.

I can understand that view on the game. I haven't played it yet. Since you're having a critical view on the game would you consider writing a review for it on steam?
