Frictional Games Forum (read-only)

The game will not even attempt to start. I click play and nothing happens. I click run settings launcher and nothing happens. I find the source files in my computer and try to run the game from there and it gives me the following message:

Amnesia.exe-System Error
The program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

I've reinstalled the game twice now with the exact same result. I have no idea what's wrong.

I found and went through that first post last night and nothing there helped. I tried the second post and it did not work either.

I noticed while going through the game files that mine are named MSVCR71.dll and MSVCP71.dll while it told me it won't start because it's missing MSVCR100.dll and MSVCP100.dll. Deleting those files didn't help and when I went to validate the files it just reacquired the 71.dll files. I renamed them to 100 and got a different error message. Is this game just not updated for Windows 10? It's like Steam downloaded the wrong files for the game to open.
