I beat the game a couple days ago....and i already want to play through it again.
As far as heart stopping moments, I'll be honest, there were not a whole lot for me. The early stages of the game in Upsilon were perhaps the most tense. And the trip through the Curie was tough. I dunno. Soma was more suspenseful with the occasional tense moment for me than scary. I still enjoyed it immensely and it will most certainly get another play through.
Amnesia, on the other hand....freaked me the hell out. So much that i almost stopped playing it. Soma was disturbing in parts...and brilliantly so.... but i feel it was more thoughtful / suspenseful / thrilling than outright scary.
If ur heart stopped at this little one here... then u will die to death at tau.

Too right. I left the game after this. No more SOMA for me that night.

I found that spot earlier, and thought "That's going to be useful at some point". Sure enough it was. Once that thing started chasing me I just legged it for the only safe spot I knew. And it worked, which was really satisfying.

tau was terrifying. I can't wait to understand how to mod that AI to be even better, because that's like instant terror recipe.
Six hours in, and now I've died twice; both times in the Curie. The enemy there is really hard to get around.
