So WAU starts getting Mad at Alpha 5 minutes before ARCHE and shits get real... a giant slkfish eats ross and then chases you like hell.
Everyone who has opened the secretrar knows this: WAU would make SOMA 200% scarier cause it actually has a mind in the vertical slice.
What if WAU had a mind from the beginning and grows while player processing, talks to the player and starts to denieing Simon further process.
