The _supersecret content, concepts and early shots reference brain coral. Even creatures who are in the final game were referred to as puppets to the coral at one point. The reddish structure gel that has absorbed crew members also resembles brain coral shots.
So was the concept of brain coral ever in the final game? Or was its place/function absorbed by the structure gel to better mesh with the WAU storyline?
