Hello,
So I started the game, after the first cutscene my player character wakes up and refuses to get off the bed!
I can pick up the buzzing cellphone, which has nothing on its screen though I am talking to someone.
After that I'm fixed to the bed, I can pick up and throw some objects around the room, but that's it.
No matter what I do I cannot get off the bed!
Please help!
Have you tried holding down the W key (or the Gamepad "Forward" equivalent)? You need to be able to get up by holding this, as it is a mechanic in the game.

Doesn't work, the character is fused to his bed
Seems like a wise choice, now that i think of it haha

Hahaha, that is true, but he might get bedsores...
I'd still like him to get up to atleast brush his teeth. I'm a dentist and all for good oral hygiene.
Any solutions?
Well, my best guess would be to try starting over? It will reload the map for you and hopefully you'll be able to get up this time~

Didn't work. He refuses to budge!
Also when he picks up the phone there's no image on it. I noticed one in a lets play on YouTube. Perhaps both bugs are connected?
I wasn't expecting the game to bug out so soon...
Do you have the game on Steam? If so, I recommend running a Steam File Integrity Check. You can do that by following Problem I here:

If that does not change anything, I recommend posting your hpl.log file by following Problem X at the same link. It's certainly a very strange issue!
I'm in the same situation, looks like I'm missing a file:
SOMA\script\player\MoveState_Interface.hps
Got a lot of log lines saying it can't load that file. Game is downloaded off Steam, but I did a verify and the install claims to be fine.
I'm verifying that now,
