So I want to use custom sounds for CS, but I have no idea how it works. In the sound folder I see a .fdp, .fev, and .fsb file PER sound. What do they do?
unless the wiki is outdated, it should still be possible to use the HPL2 .snt system. though the wiki mentioned that support for it could be cut at any time.
This guide (
https://wiki.frictionalgames.com/hpl3/engine/sound ) seems outdated. FMOD designer don't create .fsb files and the .fev files. Only .bank and .fspro files.
Also .snt files don't work in game at all. I use the snt editor and create few snt files, but doesn't hear it in game.
Figured out how to export .fsb
First of all make sure you have the older FMOD (ex) Designer, and not FMOD Studio
Then make a new project
Add a soundbank to it under the banks tab.
Go to Sound Defs and click add sound file, then add a soundfile of your choosing.
Go to Events -> Groups. Right click the layer and add the sound you put in your bank(using the ok button, not "add soundfile".
Go back to your bank, right click it and click build. In the tab that appears you click build as well.
Among other files, a .fsb file should now have been generated in the same folder as your .fdp(where you first saved the project).
EDIT: Was some incorrect info in this initial post, make sure to reread last part if this is not your first time reading.
Can you explain in detail the events part of the instructions? I don't know how to do that part...
