You know, I never thought much about it but I think I have melissophobia. I'm pretty glad that no one ever put bees in their horror games. I absolutely can't stand bees in real life.
(Removed.)
Would be interesting to somehow implement bee's into a game to the extent it's creepy.. crawling all over the screen perhaps?
Make them really big. And have these huuuge nests that you have to sneak around (cause if they notice you they swarm out and kill you)
Don't forget the sou- BBZZZZZZZZZZZBZZZZZZZZZBZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Gigantic spiders fighting with gigantic bees. Hmm...
I have a hardcore fear of spiders...and that is why I absolutely love them in my horror games. I don't understand how a developer including the thing you're afraid of most in a horror game could possibly be a bad thing. You know what my favorite part of Dark Messiah for the PC was? Going through the spider caverns fighting (read: running like a little girl from) giant spiders, because it was one of the most incredibly intense and terrifying experiences I'd ever had in an otherwise average game.

There's no obligation to put spiders in Amnesia, but if they're in, please leave them there; this is coming from someone who freaks out upon finding tiny spiders in his home and has nightmares about them crawling in his mouth and laying eggs underneath his tongue while he sleeps.

I suggest that anyone who would actually refuse to buy a game over the presence of spiders (whether due to actual fear or 'disgust') should really grow a pair reconsider why they play horror games.
The thing is that there are some fears people have that are beyond going insane. I would not want to play a game that has something I'm so deathly afraid of that I get hives and faint. You don't have something nearly that bad.

I don't know if the earlier post recommending therapy was a joke or not, but with a fear that bad it probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

Regardless, while it would definitely suck to be afraid beyond the point of rationality of something, that fear shouldn't be pushed on the rest of us. Claiming you won't buy the game solely because it might contain something you've a phobia of is silly, especially considering the focus on modding Amnesia is apparently getting.

Well actually there's a part in Bioshock with bees, and after the use of a "plasmid", you can shoot a swarm of bees at enemies from your fingertips.
