Frictional Games Forum (read-only)

Hi everyone.

I recently purchased The Penumbra Collection, and have been having problems getting the game to start. Every time I start the game, I receive an error:

"Penumbra.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module
atioglxx.dll at 001B:6954AC8E"

I've updated my graphics card drivers (I have a Sapphire Radeon 9600), and even replaced the Penumbra.exe file has mentioned in this thread: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-3328.html

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Smells like a driver problem, that's for sure. Could you post the contents of your hpl.log file after a crash? Should be in the game user data folder, which should in turn be in your documents folder.

"My Documents/Penumbra Overture/Episode 1"
This is assuming you are playing penumbra overture.
