Lower the other bridge and go through that door. When you've completed the puzzle in there, come back, put the lever back up on the bridge you've just crossed, and run back over to it so that it rises when you're on it. Then, jump down to the other bridge, and it will fall back into place.

That seems to be the common solution (and the one I used). Alternatively:
