Just a quick note - I was using whatever drivers came installed with my laptop, a HP Pavilion dv6-3032TX (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650). The game ran great, no problems at all.

Tonight I updated to 10.8's and experienced a few things

* crashes when loading new areas
* slower performance
* with mouse smoothing off, the physics interaction is screwy (was fine before)

So something with the new drivers isn't playing nicely with Amnesia!

If only I could revert back to my OEM drivers, but I can't find em!

Hmm im not gonna update to 10.8 then lol. Im using 10.7 and everything is great.
10.8 works fine for me.

However there is a hotfix out that might solve your problems

Did I ever say that I do not really like drivers? Tongue
Might have linked to wrong hotfix, here is another:

10.8 seems like a problem child Smile
Note, here are the 10.7's (for windows 7/vista 64 bit):

Going to revert to 10.7's

You can reach them by the "Previous Drivers" link at the bottom of the driver download page found from

I think I may have the solution for this. I have a AsusG73JH with a HD5870 Mobility card. Amnesia didn't work with the officially supported drivers from Asus (which haven't been updated in more than a year - I hate the lousy driver support by PC hardware manufacturers and especially laptop makers). When starting Amnesia it crashed with a grey or black screen with vertical stripes after just a few seconds. Sound kept on for another 30 seconds or so, but then the computer froze and needed to be rebooted.
Amnesia wasn't the only game that didn't work, all games using OpenGL such as Minecraft, Ghost Master and a few more indie titles, and also Oracle's VirtualBox caused the computer to crash.

When I downloaded and installed the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI/AMD, things just got worse. The whole computer became unstable and regularly froze up.

But now, I found this link -

Did as he said, and now for the first time since I bought it, it works fine with the latest Catalyst drivers, and Amnesia and the other games works perfectly!
