Full Version: Question about the "wooden crank" item.

I finished the game with this thing still in my inventory. I think I recall picking it up in the Control Room level of the Cistern hub... and for the life of me I can't recall if I ever used it for anything.

Did I miss something? Every other puzzle item eventually disappeared from my inventory by the game's end, but the crank never did, making me wonder if I missed using it for something optional.

edit: Whoops. Should have googled first, then posted.

Apparently the crank is used to reopen a door in that level, after its mechanism fails... except that never happened to me, because I used boxes to keep the door from ever closing, thinking with my fancy game-logic that such a thing in the level meant some monster would chase me out of the area and otherwise I'd be freaking out turning the wheel to reopen the door when the time came.

Well, anyway, feel free to delete this thread, mods.
My first thought - the Escape ending. Yes, there was escape ending before, so, may be that item left from the old times.

But it was wrong assumption ;<
I did the same, I put two boxed under door Big Grin
But the wheel broke so I put it there anyway just to use it.
WAIT.
Here is the news for you:

It has 2 valve's on both sides. WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?

The question is re-opened.
Kein, the second valve will break off after you solve a specific part of the machine puzzle. Not sure exactly what part or when but it happens eventually.
Huh, I totally forgot about that wheel crank but I never used it either.
Weird, it does not want to break here, hmm...
Watch this video to see it happen. He's using the handle several times before that and it works fine but once he solves the middle room part of the puzzle it breaks. Pretty cool moment actually, but most people seem to stop the gate with boxes instead.
