Full Version: how to make water work

I made water but it acts as a floor so movable boxes sit on it and i can walk ontop of the water, how do i make the water act real and not act as a floor?
I assume you made a plane with a water texture?

Check the Primitive tab on the plane and make sure Collides is checked off. Next you need to add an Liquid area. Select Areas from the side bar and select Liquid from the drop down menu in the top right corner. The area is what the game actually recognizes as water, the plane is basically only used for decoration.

Turn it into blood similar and the game already supports it. Create and area of water, place a plane without collision and done. Make sure the plane has the appropriate color, in this case blood (similar to wine).

No, water should work without any scripts.
Ok my water sort of works now but the water plane is still the issue, i still walk ontop of it, how can i make myself walk through it as i dont want the water to be a tiny amount. my water sounds and effects all work but the primitive is still a solid so i walk on it and objects sit on it Sad
Turn Collides off.

It is off though so i dont understand whats wrong, i double checked to see if there were two layers but there isnt, i have the floor a bit undeneath it and then the water primitive above it with collides off and it still doesnt seem to register.
I've made a simple map with working water, check the settings and look for any differences between this map and your own.
