Well i got the map to load properly with no problems without dev mode(used back up cfg files). But when i use my edited cfg files and load amnesia, the game starts up but then gives an error saying "failed to load config!" My map files are in the "Custom_story" directory and folder structure, it's pretty much like the way everyone else is doing. Please help me out here i don't know whats going wrong here!

Wrong folder. Outside custom stories there is another maps folder where the campaign is. Copy your custom_stories folder map to that "maps" folder. Thats what the dev mode runs. If its not there it won't find it.

If the problem is the map, just don't use the configuration that auto-loads the map. Go into the main_settings.cfg and set 'ShowMenu' to true, and just load your custom story through the custom story menu.
