For the game, did it cover all the costs aka making any profit?

Just started it today on PS4 Smile
As of their one-year anniversary blog post last September, they had made back their investments and had started making a bit of profit. So while not quite as much of a break-away success as Amnesia was, it was still a commercial success.
good good, hope they're good with it Smile
I actually think they should drop the price. People are hesitant to spend $30 on a 10 hour game.

On psnprofiles there's almost 72,000 owners of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and only 6,500 Soma owners.

Plus I don't think EGTTR was necessarily that well received and Soma is more like a cult classic.
I agree. They may make more profit by dropping it to $25. I believe Amnesia has lingered at $20 for years but with many deals available.
bigbob: price is too high with no doubt, i bought it on sale for £4.09

In terms of tracking sales and player information, feel free to head over to SteamDB for some graphs and trends associated with SOMA.
I think I preordered SOMA in 2015 for like 27,99?

I was thinking they might be screwing themselves over 2 ways. $30 is too high to get the word of mouth sales, and they go kind of dirt cheap in sales, at least in EU. The cheapest I've seen on psn in the US is $12 I believe.

I think a good price would be to drop it to $19.99 and limit sales to 50% off at $9.99. Probably most sales at 25% gets them $15 instead of the $6 or $7 they are getting in EU (I don't know conversion rates).

From a business standpoint they obviously want as much as possible for their efforts but Soma in particular will gain traction from the people who play it 2-3x and realize the whole story. I can't stop talking about this game and recommend to people I played ME3 mp with, even if I've barely talked to them in years, friends irl, gamefaqs, etc.
